Jewelry artist Nicolette Tallmadge shares tips on how to make a living selling jewelry in The Crafts Report
Chesapeake, Virginia - February 15, 2005 - Brochures, handouts, and a web site are some of the many tools that jewelry artist Nicolette Tallmadge uses to help educate potential customers to her work and her business. "Most of my jewelry is made with paper, semi-precious stones, beads and sterling silver, which is different form what people think of as "traditional" jewelry. Educating customers is a must," Ms. Tallmadge recently stated in the March issue of The Crafts Report, a national trade magazine for the professional crafts industry.
Every month, The Crafts Report gathers practical advice from working professional artists on how they develop, promote, and build their businesses for their regular Insight column. Each month focuses on one particular craft medium, although the majority of advice featured in the Insight column is applicable to artists of all mediums. Jewelry designer Nicolette Tallmadge was one of 9 jewelry artists who were featured in this month's Insight column.
Nicolette Tallmadge, a resident of Chesapeake, Virginia has been designing jewelry for 12 years. A graduate of Radford University, she is the owner of her jewelry design company, Mixed Media Designs. She currently designs two distinctive lines of handmade jewelry, one made of rolled paper, metal, and beads, and another line made of hand woven wire.
